Hello you smart beautiful people. Welcome to the new Manifest Recipe page!
The page isn’t the only thing that’s changing.
Those of you who have been following from the beginning know that I initially wanted The Manifest Recipe to be a user-generated recipe sharing community- a positive place on the internet where people could come learn and celebrate the familial quality surrounding food. However, now that I have been writing this blog for a while, its direction has become clearer. It can still be a community, it can still be recipe-focused, but instead of readers sharing their recipes, I will simply share what I’ve been making at home using mine and other fellow food bloggers’ recipes. This will allow me to still cultivate the communal feeling that I wanted from the start while simultaneously supporting other people like me and celebrating food. Everybody wins.
I will post about once a week, on Monday mornings. And again, from my most recent post, I do have a food-related venture that I am currently working on perfecting. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. I am super excited about it!
This week’s recipe is brought to you by Averie Cooks. I don’t know this lovely lady personally, but she provided my house with some good eats with her Sweet and Tangy Jerk Chicken with Caramelized Pineapples and Mangos recipe. I’m so happy I stumbled upon this easy and delicious dinner on the addicting playground that is Pinterest one day! I made it last week and it is now in the menu rotation.
The only modifications I made from her recipe were 1) using olive oil instead of coconut as my boyfriend is allergic (it worked out great!) and 2) I put a little Cuban twist by making plantains and black beans for sides (delicious!).
If you’re looking to add a little more of the tropics into your weekly menu, do yourself a favor and try this flavorful recipe!
That’s all from me for now. As always…
I’ll see you at the dinner table.
